The first textile exhibition of the year, Heimtextil 2025, officially opened its doors this morning at Messe Frankfurt, featuring over 3,000 companies from the home and contract textiles sector eager to start the year on a positive note.
Visitor registrations have come from more than 130 countries, highlighting the exhibition's truly international appeal.
At the opening press conference, attendees explored the central 650-square-meter installation titled “Among-Us,” designed by renowned Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, who elaborated on the multifaceted themes behind the work.
Detlef Braun, a member of the executive board at Messe Frankfurt, noted that Heimtextil, as the first textile show of 2025, follows a highly successful 2024 for the organization. Messe Frankfurt recorded a turnover of €784 million last year, having hosted around 330 events globally with 98,000 exhibitors and attracting 4.1 million professional buyers.
The Messe Frankfurt Texpertise Network has become the largest umbrella organization in the industry, encompassing 23,000 textile supply chain companies participating in 60 related events.
“We anticipate challenges in 2025, but remain optimistic,” Braun stated. “Companies are seeking stability and are undergoing transformation as the market evolves and sustainability takes center stage. Exhibitions have regained their importance following a turbulent period, and while digital advancements are significant, nothing can replace the value of face-to-face interactions.”
