In March 2024, Tatiana de Pahlen and Charles Lorenceau threw a winter wedding in Gstaad planned by Lanza & Baucina—and the bride wore a hooded gown by Giambattista Valli. For dinner, Tatiana says she wanted it to feel like everyone was walking into a fantasy garden in C.S. Lewis’s Narnia. “The frost of winter but also the arrival of spring—all details from the flowers, to the floors, the table and my dress were inspired by this,” she says.

“With summer being the generally preferred wedding season, I wanted to create a different, out-of-a-fairy-tale experience that felt like a real winter wonderland,” Polina Shaker says of her wedding in St. Moritz. The wedding was held on the ice rink of Badrutt’s Palace, the most famous hotel in the Swiss mountain town.

“James and I chose to get married at this time of year because we both adore Christmas,” Savannah Miller said of her December wedding at London’s Petersham Nurseries. Festive holiday decorations doubled as reception decor, while Miller wore a dress that made her look like “a winter queen.”

These real weddings showcase the enchanting possibilities of a winter celebration, highlighting unique themes, beautiful attire, and romantic settings.
