From January to September 2024, China's cumulative textile and garment exports were 222.41 billion US dollars, an increase of 0.5% over the same period last year (the same below), of which textile exports were 104.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.9%, and clothing exports were 118.11 billion US dollars, a decrease of 1.6%. In September, China's textile and garment exports were 24.78 billion US dollars, down 3.8% year-on-year, down 11.3% month-on-month, of which textile exports were 11.25 billion US dollars, down 2.1% year-on-year, down 8% month-on-month, and clothing exports were 13.53 billion US dollars, down 5.1% year-on-year, down 14% month-on-month.
The analysis said that in August, China's textile and garment exports stopped falling and stabilized, with exports of nearly 28 billion US dollars in a month, setting a new monthly high in the year. Affected by weak demand in overseas markets, the downturn in the global manufacturing industry, the appreciation of the renminbi and other adverse factors, China's textile and garment exports fell in September. Looking forward to the fourth quarter, the lack of sustainability of overseas demand recovery, trade protectionism and geopolitics and other adverse factors will continue to exist, with the base effect further weakened, China's textile and garment export growth is still facing greater challenges.
