Recently, Hapag-Lloyd's official website announced that the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will be levied on all containerized cargoes from the Far East to Australia from August 22, 2024 until further notice.

From China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Macau, China to Australia, effective August 22, 2024
From Taiwan, China to Australia, effective September 6, 2024
US$500 per TEU for all container types.
In addition, on August 14th Hapag-Lloyd published financial data for the first half of the year.
The data show that in the first half of 2024, Group revenues amounted to USD 9,516 million; Group EBITDA was USD 2 billion (EUR 1.8 billion); Group EBIT fell to USD 900 million (EUR 800 million); and Group profit fell to USD 800 million (EUR 700 million).
