Indo Count aims to move the needle on agricultural practices in India

Mumbai, India – Indo Count Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding with one of India’s biggest manufacturers of cotton bales to launch the Regenagri Cotton Project.

Its partner, Shreeram Cotton Industries, is a premier ginning unit in Gujarat and is known for producing premium Sankar-6 cotton. Together two companies are committed to transforming agricultural practices with a focus on sustainability and resilience.

Regenagri, short for Regenerative Agriculture, supports holistic farming systems designed to enhance ecosystem biodiversity, improve soil health and boost water and air quality. Combining the resources of Indo Count and Shreeram, the project aims to drive positive change across the agricultural sector.

“Regenagri underscores our shared commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture practices that benefit both farmers and the environment,” said K K Lalpuria, CEO & executive director of Indo Count Industries Limited.

The Regenagri Cotton Project has been established to serve as a model for industry-wide transformation toward regenerative practices, said Natubhai Panchani, partner of Shreeram Cotton Industries.

“The Regenagri project will leverage the strengths of both organizations to develop scalable solutions that can be implemented across diverse agricultural regions,” he added.

Indo Count has been deeply involved in projects to aid farmers and last year introduced a collection with a range of bedding made from regenerative cotton in what it described as a major step forward for sustainability.
