Chemical Fiber Fabrics Must Be Worse Than Pure Cotton?

When most people buy clothes or bedding, the first thing they pay attention to is the fabric composition, and the preferred fabric is pure cotton. In contrast, chemical fiber fabrics are not so favored.

In China, few people agree that the performance of chemical fiber fabrics is better than that of natural fiber fabrics, but most western consumers believe that chemical fiber fabrics have superior performance in comfort, functionality and high sensitivity.

So is it really as amazing as it is said?

1. Cotton is superior to chemical fiber fabric simply from fiber characteristics.

The primary factor affecting skin friendliness is the hygroscopicity of fabrics. According to the stated moisture regain, the higher the moisture regain, the better the moisture absorbency.

In dry winter, the skin needs to keep a certain amount of moisture to feel comfortable, and cotton, as a fabric with high moisture regain, can absorb moisture in the air and moisturize the skin, so it is naturally a very comfortable fabric.

2. Chemical fiber fabrics will be better than cotton when sweating a lot.

Pure cotton is indeed superior to other fabrics in terms of skin friendliness, but pure cotton fabrics also have its shortcomings:

1. Easy to wrinkle, easy to shrink after cleaning, poor elasticity and easy to deform.

2. Sticky hair is difficult to remove, it will be more inappropriate to keep pets at home.

3. Not acid-resistant, not easy to clean when it comes into contact with acidic liquid.

At the same time, due to the hygroscopicity of pure cotton, it is not easy to dry quickly after contact with sweat, which is easy to cause bacterial reproduction, so the close-fitting clothes and bedding need to be changed frequently.

However, the processed chemical fiber fabric can conduct moisture in one direction, using the different hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the inner and outer layers of the fabric, that is, the outer layer of the fabric is hydrophilic and most of the inner layer is hydrophobic, and sweat is transmitted from a small part of the hydrophilic part of the inner layer to the hydrophilic outer layer of the fabric, where it quickly evaporates.

Most of the hydrophobic inner layers make people sweat without touching their bodies, and the rapid evaporation of water in the outer layer of the fabric takes away a lot of heat, which makes people feel cool.

3. Chemical fiber fabrics also have good comfort after processing.

The biggest feature of chemical fiber is its strong processability, and it can achieve the desired effect through different means of processing.

The most classic is the progress of polyester silk-like technology. After several generations of evolution, polyester silk-like technology has reached a relatively perfect level.

The appearance and feel are completely the same as those of real silk, but the comfort, easy beating and dyeing freshness are all higher than those of real silk. In Japan, kimonos made of super-simulated chemical fiber are much more expensive than real silk kimonos.

4. In terms of functionality, chemical fiber fabrics are far more than pure cotton.

As an artificial polymer, chemical fiber can be designed with functionality in advance before production and processing.

The antistatic and skin-friendly functions of the fabric can be improved by processing, the antibacterial function can be achieved by adding antibacterial agents, and the low radiation function or far-infrared radiation function can be achieved by adding mineral micropowder.

With the development of technology, functional fabrics emerge in an endless stream. Many businesses in the market sell their products at high prices with functions such as hyaluronic acid. Consumers must pay attention to whether the products have corresponding functional inspection reports when purchasing.

After reading these, have you also made some changes in chemical fiber fabrics? Pure cotton is not the only choice when choosing fabrics, and sometimes you will have a good experience when choosing chemical fiber.
