Frankfurt, Germany – To underscore its commitment to the textiles industry, India is set to host what it is describing as the world’s largest textile exposition: Baharat Tex 2024.
The event will take place in New Delhi from Feb. 26-29 at Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan and Yashobhoomi at IICC, Dwarka, New Delhi.
During the Heimtextil fair yesterday, representatives from the country’s government and several of its textiles councils convened to promote the trade show, whose organization was announced last fall. Messe Frankfurt, which organizes Heimtexil and roughly 50 other textile trade shows around the world, is managing Baharat Tex 2024.
Next month’s event in India is designed to showcase the entire value chain of the country’s textiles industry and represents the government’s 5F visions: farm to fiber to factory to fashion to foreign. It will encompass more than 6 million sq. ft. of exhibition space in expected to feature more than 3,500 exhibitors.
Silver partners include Trident, Welspun, Arvind and Indorama. Reliance Group, India’s largest conglomerate and major export of polyester yarns, is the Gold partner. Aditya Brila Group – a major conglomerate with divisions producing pulp and fiber, chemicals and textiles, among others – is the Platinum sponsor.
The event is an industry-led initiative and is proposed to be organized jointly by the 11 textile-related Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and other industry bodies – among them the Cotton Export Promotion Council (Texprocil), the Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (Matexil), the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) and the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH).
