On April 10, 2025, the first China-Egypt Flax Forum was grandly held in Tanta, Egypt. Nearly 300 representatives from the flax industries of China and Egypt attended the forum. The forum aims to actively address and solve the chronic problem of exotic flax fibers in Egypt through communication and exchange, improve the quality of fibers, and promote the sustainable development of the Egyptian flax industry. The forum was presided over by Mr. Zhao Zhigang.
Mr. Dong Chunxing, the president of the China Flax Textile Industry Association, Mr. Hu Zhenya, the general manager of Hubei Jinghua Group, and Ms. Wang Tongyao, the business director of Hong Kong Dongjia Group, successively delivered speeches on behalf of the China Flax Textile Industry Association and flax textile enterprises. They strongly urge Egyptian flax farmers, farm owners, flax merchants and flax raw material factories to take immediate action. Starting from this year's new flax harvest season, they should abandon chemical fiber ropes and straw ropes from the source, resolutely resist foreign fibers, and make joint efforts in all aspects to improve the quality of Egyptian flax raw materials to a level commensurate with its trade status.
Representatives from Egyptian flax raw material factories, farmers and local township governments also spoke in turn. They all indicated that the industry has already realized the harm and severity of the problem of flax with different fibers, and unanimously promised that starting from this year's new flax, they would resist different fibers from the source, reduce pollution, and provide qualified products for China's flax friends.
